Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree | Elsie Robinson

Hey friends, it's Elsie here with one last Christmas themed layout before we head into the New Year!

Nothing is more quintessentially Christmas than a Christmas tree, and I love the modern and geometric trees that are available in the TCS store. I used a combination of trees from the Tree Farm set and the North Pole set for this layout.

I backed each section of the trees with a different pattern, and I also used small foam dots to raise the cut file away from the patterned paper for more dimension and shadow. I've never done this technique before and whilst it was quite fiddly, it was well worth the effort!

I also used some gold and copper sequins on the trees to look like tree ornaments. I love the shimmer this adds to them!

I also used the 'rockin' around the christmas tree' phrase for my title and backed that with different patterned papers to match the trees. I love the mismatched look!

The clouds from the go fly a kite set are so cute and whimsical. I cut them from white cardstock in a variety of sizes and used them all over my background to help set my Christmas scene!

Thanks for stopping by today everyone. I hope you all have a happy and safe New Years, and I'll see you back on the blog next year! ;)

Beautiful & Bright Winter | Kelly Janes

Hey there friends! Kelly back with you again today to share a new winter themed layout using the Snow Day Background Cut File.

I started in Cricut Design Space by "slicing" one of the snowflakes from the cut file set. I then resized the snowflake multiple times and cut the snowflake images on white cardstock and vellum.

I then positioned those snowflakes on my layout using the patterned paper as a guide. Before adhering the snowflakes to the background, I added a little mixed media to the background. I wanted the snowflakes to have a lot of dimension so I only added a dot of adhesive in the center of the snowflakes to allow the edges of the snowflakes to curl naturally. I then added stitching around the circle using metallic silver thread. I tucked my photo into the snowflakes and added multiple winter themed embellishments around the page.

Now you can take a look at my YouTube process video.

Thank you all so much for spending part of your day with me and remember to head to The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store to check out all of the cut files! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

My Present by Jill

Hello friends!  I created a new page using the Gift Wrap cut file and some fun Christmas papers from my stash, you can find the file in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store HERE.

I started the layout by sizing the file to file an entire 12x12 piece of patterned paper.  I then backed the words and trees sections with a complimentary paper.

Next, I opted to use a different patterned paper for the triangles sections.

I think mixing patterns is one of my favorite scrapbook techniques, and the best way to do that is by using cut files and then backing the cuts with patterned papers.

What better way to show off a photo of my girly with Christmas bows all over her head than by using the Gift Wrap cut file?

I hope your Christmas was magical!

"From My Window" with Kira

Merry almost Christmas friends!  Kira here and I am back with a page from my December Daily album.  This is my second year making an album and it is such a fun way to stay crafty throughout the month!

I decided to use prompts this year to simplify things for myself.  The prompt for day 3 was "From My Window".  This is our first year in San Antonio (from Seattle) so let me tell you, what I am seeing from my window is vastly different from what I am used to seeing.  I snapped this photo of my boys playing outside on our picnic table in their diapers and thought it perfectly summed up the difference in temperatures.

I decided to use the Merry Christmas cut file from The Cut Shoppe as my base for this layout.  Honestly, the deer doesn't have a lot to do with my kids playing in the diapers in the sun, but I loved how much open space the cut file provided.

I wanted to back my cut file with phrase stickers from the PFS December Days collection.  I love that Pink Fresh Studio provides so many phrase stickers in their collections, but I'm never able to use up even half a sheet.  But backing a cut file with them is a great way to use them up while still enjoying the stickers!

After I backed the cut file, I stitched around it with white embroidery floss.  I love the texture it adds to my layout, without overpowering the stickers.

I added my photo to the bottom right corner of my page.  I used a house and flower die cut from the same PFS collection and added my title "From My Window" right on top.

I hope this inspired you to use your phrase stickers in a new way!  Until next time,

Chill Out with Jennifer

Hi Everybody,

this is Jennifer with a new layout for The Cut Shoppe.

For this one I worked with the Stuck On You cutfile

and the Picture Perfect cutfile.

For this layout I decided on a diagonal design. So I spread out the succulents and frames from the bottom left to the top right of my 12x12 paper. I backed one of the frames with my chosen picture and the rest of the cutfiles with patterened paper.

For embellishing I mostly worked with flat and chipboard stickers.

I kept the background pretty simple and only added a few sprinkles of pink, yellow und gold spray ink.

That's it for today! I wish you all Happy Holidays and a great start into the New Year!

xoxo

New Cut Files | Snow Day

Merry (almost) Christmas!  It's just a few days away, and we have four NEW cut file sets to inspire your crafting this holiday season.  There are so many photos to document this time of year, and The Cut Shoppe has a great variety of cut files to choose from.  I used the new Gift Wrap background cut file with a photo, from the recent snowy weather we received down south.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/581203913/the-gift-wrap-cut-file-is-a-background?ref=shop_home_feat_4

I wanted to cut the design from White card stock and pair it with the FaLaLa collection from Crate Paper.  Before I cut the design, I sketched the triangle shapes with the Silhouette Sketch Pens.  Then, I used a mix of patterned papers from the collection to back the negative images from the cut file.  Once I had all of the patterned paper added, I hand stitched over the triangles with coordinating embroidery floss.

I really love this kind of look on a layout, because it is almost like creating your own unique patterned paper.  And there are so many other options with the Gift Wrap cut file.  You could use individual designs from the cut file, create a large cut file design with one of the individual designs or add some more hand stitching to your project.

I kept my photo and embellishments in a diagonal arrangement.  I used my photo and one of the ephemera pieces from the FaLaLa collection to create balanced clusters on the layout.  I used the Thickers for my title and layered them over the photo.  Then I added a mix of embellishments to both of the cluster areas.  I finished the layout, with the "Jingle, Jingle" ephemera piece between the two clusters, to connect them together.

If you haven't visited The Cut Shoppe Etsy store lately, then make sure you head over to check out all of the designs.  While you're there, you'll find the Gift Wrap cut file as well as three other new designs that have been added today!

Hello Snow | Elsie Robinson

Hey friends, it's Elsie here with a Wintry page to share with you today!

I love to create big titles on my scrapbook pages, but I don't seem to create them nearly enough! As soon as I saw the 'Hello Snow' title from the Wintry Mix set, I knew it would be the perfect statement title for a page!

I separated the snowflake from the title with the knife tool in my Silhouette software so I could use the snowflake as its own seperate embellishment.

I cut the snowflakes in various different sizes from different pink patterned papers. I love how whimsical and delicate these snowflakes are!

I sized my title to around 10 inches so it would stretch across most of my 12x12 page, and I cut it from a mint blue paper to contrast with the pink snowflakes.

To create a white border around the title, I used the offset tool and cut the shape from some white cardstock.

I not only love the border this creates, but it also made the paper a lot more stable which meant it was easier to stitch on.

I also cut the asterisk from the Tinsel Town set from some white cardstock to scatter over my background to add some more interest and whimsy!

Thanks for stopping by today everyone; I hope you're inspired to also create statement titles for your pages!
